This stage involves conceptualizing the type of ADU such a Garage Conversion, Attached ADU, or a Detached ADU. It considers factors such as the available space, zoning regulations, specific needs of the homeowner, and budgeting. It's important to create a design that complies with local building codes and regulations.

Design Submission

Once the ADU plans are completed, they must be submitted to the city or county for review. Thanks to California 2020 ADU Legislation, the city must review and comment within the first 60 days. During this phase, local authorities will check the plans for compliance with regulations. Revisions or modifications may be requested, which must be addressed and resubmitted for further review.

Before any construction can begin, obtaining the required permits and approvals from the local planning and building department is necessary. Working with professionals experienced in ADU design and familiar with local regulations will help streamline the process and increase the chances of approval. Based on the city demand, permit approval and release is between  4-7 months. Once approved, we will streamline your project and bring your ADU to life.

The cost of ADU designs typically ranges from $10,000 to $15,000. It's important to consider that the total expenses can vary significantly based on factors such as site features, ADU's size, location, and customization options.
